The winds have died down but the snow keeps falling. The snow is starting to pile up so high Miles can climb on top of his dog house and up the snow pile and peek into Dianna’s kitchen window.

This afternoon I had decided to was about time to shovel the entrance to teacher’s quarters. Here is the beautiful stair case I was able to produce out of all the snow.

Going up…. Going Down!
I am a High School teacher in Sacramento, CA. I just discovered your blog while looking up teaching assignments in Alaska. I just dream about it. My wife does not like the idea or the cold. Neat blog, thanks. Do you follow dog sledding, namely the Yukon Quest and Iditarod?
I do follow the Iditarod, mainly because it comes through Elim, and since we are so close to the finish (115 miles) not a whole lot changes after they leave here. I also follow the guys who are walking and biking the trail. alaskaultrasport.com is the website. I don’t follow to many other sled races. There are a lot of teachers who come up here and leave there spouses in the lower 48 and visit them on vacations…not sure if I could do this but it works for some couples.
