On Friday afternoon I flew with my four runners to Noorvik where we would spend the night and run the following day. There are a couple unique things about Noorvik, one its our regional xc course meaning if you don’t make state our 8 week season is over. 2nd is that its above the ARCTIC CIRCLE! Friday evening my kids didn’t do much, they played chess, and hung out in our hotel room….oh yeah I mean the classroom where we were going to sleep on the floor, remember this is the bush.
Around 3 AM Freddy started puking and puked until about 6 PM on Saturday, missing the race, and everything except the flight home on Saturday. The rest of the team ran good, but have higher expectations for next year.
As we were getting ready to board the plane for the ride home (9.10pm) I snapped this picture of the an amazing sunset, so everyone of you can now say you have seen the sun set above the ARCTIC CIRCLE!
