I have noticed a pattern in reading teacher’s blogs…I guess the thing to do is blog about their students and their classrooms. Well my class is good and for the most part my classroom is as normal as any classroom. I was able to find a couple things that make my classroom MINE.
Here is my discipline. He was completely stolen from Steve in SHH, and then modified a little. It is nice and simple. Each student has a spoon and the more they get into trouble the higher up they go.
Here is my phone. Nothing crazy except it usually is unplugged so parents can’t call and interrupt my VALUED learning time to pass on silly messages that they forget in the morning. This works out well until the Principal needs to get a hold of me. Then the message is “is your phone plugged in…..ok PLUG IT IN”
Yes my solider or body guard. He was discovered in my classroom last year after an elementary ski meet, and has been standing on top of my whiteboard looking over my class ever since.
After crashing my snowmachine last year and having my spleen removed the Dr, said I need to be careful because my immune system will be weak for a while, so I picked up some large bottles of GERMX. Now during the course of a day I usually have at least one student at all times de- germing their hands. I probably have the most germ free room in all of Alaska and maybe the Nation.
You can’t have a class in Alaska and not have a trash bucket for XC skis. I am in the planning stages of making a rack for the skis, boots, and poles. My goal is to keep it small but when you get a Schollmeier around some tools, wood and screws nothing stays small.
The black cart s my tech cart, which has about $20,000 worth of equipment (laptops, document camera, and is attached to my smartboard, and projector). The kids are VERY careful around it. Then my moose. I guess it was a planter, but since I couldn’t keep cactus’s alive last year, I decided to keep stuff in it. Hopefully it will break soon so I can get rid of it….or if anyone wants it, its yours for the price of shipping!
This is an aerial shot of my desk. It is NEAT, CLEAN, and ORGANIZED. I can’t do anything until it looks like this everyday. Kind of weird since I have never really been clean. As you can see everything has its place also.
Well thats my room!
